Federal election law requires political action committees to use best efforts to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 during an election cycle. ASTAPAC can accept both personal and company contributions, but by law company contributions can only go toward the PAC’s operational expenses and not to political campaigns. An individual may not contribute more than a total of $5,000 per year to the committee. Contributions to ASTAPAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. All contributions are voluntary. ASTA will not favor or disadvantage anyone based upon the amounts of or failure to make ASTAPAC contributions. Contributions are subject to the limitations of Federal Elections Commission regulations, and are not limited to the amount suggested.
